The Hamptons Fundraising Stop: A Celebrity Filled Event

The Hamptons fundraising event hosted by Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was star-studded, with guests including Joy Behar and Chris Rock seen mingling with the crowd. However, noticeably absent from the event was Presidential candidate Kamala Harris. The event took place at the Southampton home of tech couple Stuart Butterfield, CEO of Slack, and Jen Rubio, CEO of Away. It was reported that Chris Rock spent most of the afternoon socializing with former “Saturday Night Live” producer Marci Klein, while Mumford & Sons provided the entertainment for the day.

Ticket prices for the fundraiser ranged from $6,600 to a hefty $150,000 for those looking to host the event. Despite the high price tags, tickets at all levels were completely sold out, indicating a strong turnout for the fundraiser. The menu for the event included chicken sammies and lobster rolls, adding to the upscale atmosphere of the gathering. An attendee described the afternoon as having “high, positive energy,” suggesting that the event had a lively and upbeat atmosphere throughout the day.

This event contrasts sharply with a previous appearance by President Joe Biden in the Hamptons in late June. Following his disastrous debate against Donald Trump, Biden’s appearance in the Hamptons was described as a “Band-Aid on a bullet wound” by one Democratic insider. In contrast, the fundraiser hosted by Governor Tim Walz was well-received by attendees, with one source describing Walz as “humble and a genuine dude,” earning praise for his approachability and likability.

While Kamala Harris did not attend the Hamptons fundraiser, it was reported that she will appear at a larger fundraising event in NYC this fall. However, her husband, Doug Emhoff, is set to make appearances at upcoming events in the Hamptons later this month. An invite from the DNC obtained by Page Six revealed that Emhoff will be joined by Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo at an event on Aug. 31, promising more star-studded gatherings in the coming weeks.
