In a bold move to expand its streaming content, German broadcaster RTL Deutschland has successfully secured a significant package of series from compatriot ZDF Studios. This deal, consisting of nearly 1,000 episodes, is set to elevate RTL+ as a leading streaming service in the region starting September 15. Popular ZDF shows such as Wilsberg, Der Bergdoktor, and Das Traumschiff will now be available to RTL+ subscribers. Andreas Fischer, COO of RTL Deutschland, expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership, stating, “As a leading German private broadcaster and streaming service, we want to be the first port of call for all partners in Germany.” The addition of unscripted series like Wilsberg and Nord Nord Mord in mid-September followed by dramas such as Der Bergdoktor and Bettys Diagnose in October and family-friendly favorites like Das Traumschiff in November will undoubtedly enhance the streaming experience for viewers. Markus Schäfer, spokesman for the management of ZDF Studios, also shared his excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing the opportunity for series fans to enjoy ZDF’s top-notch content on RTL+ at any time, solidifying RTL Deutschland’s position in the German entertainment landscape.

Simon’s Cat, the renowned animated franchise owned by Banijay UK, is taking a leap into the world of cryptocurrency in a strategic move to engage with crypto enthusiasts.
