CineEurope 2022: Paramount Studios Steals the Show with Exclusive Peeks at Upcoming Releases

Paramount Studios made a grand entrance at CineEurope this year, showcasing an extended look at Ridley Scott’s highly anticipated sequel, Gladiator II. After nearly two-and-a-half decades since the original film, the audience was thrilled with what they saw. The pre-roll clip featured stars Denzel Washington, Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen, and Joseph Quinn. Scott himself promised that Gladiator II is “well worth the wait,” leaving fans eagerly awaiting its global release in November.

Mark Viane, President of International Theatrical Distribution at Paramount, once again stole the show with his entertaining entrance at CineEurope. Clad in gladiator garb, Viane appeared in a pre-recorded video as Markimus Vianus, exuding humor and excitement for the studio’s upcoming releases. He reflected on Paramount’s successful year so far with hits like Mean Girls, Bob Marley: One Love, and IF, promising the audience the “biggest Paramount presentation ever.” Viane then teased the crowd with extended 3D scenes from the highly anticipated Transformers One, leaving everyone in awe.

Star Chris Hemsworth sent a video message praising Transformers One as “out of this world,” generating even more buzz for the film. The origins story, set on Cybertron, explores the relationship between Optimus Prime and Megatron, captivating the audience with its stunning visuals. Another highlight was the prequel A Quiet Place: Day One, directed by Michael Sarnoski and featuring a star-studded cast. Lupita Nyong’o teased viewers with promises of a thrilling experience as the film delves into the catastrophic events of the first day the aliens arrive on Earth.

Attendees at CineEurope were treated to an exclusive peek at Smile 2, the sequel to Parker Finn’s surprise horror hit from 2022. The brief glimpse into the new characters and storyline left the audience on the edge of their seats, with audible screams of excitement filling the room. Paramount also showcased a sneak peek at Sonic the Hedgehog 3, introducing the mysterious character Shadow to the beloved franchise.
